CIJ Day 8: Join the Cookie Club

Someone at MHH suggested we read The Christmas Cookie Club for our CIJ book club read. It didn't take long for EVERYONE to join in. Some bought the book, some checked it out, some searched on eBay. Some, like me, cheated and started a bit early. I was trying to read Eclipse and still couldn't get into it, so I pulled out the next book in line. The Christmas Cookie Club is about a group of women who meet each year to exchange cookies, recipes and life stories. I really enjoy books that tell life stories about different women at one particular moment. Looking back, most of the books I've read recently and enjoyed, had to do with multiple women coming together for some time of get together or get away. Hmmmmm??? What does that say. My daughter seems to think, it's my way of living through others. I just don't know? I'm far from being done, but so far, it's good.

The author even has a dedicated website to communicate with her fans. It details how to start your own cookie club and gives an outline for the "RULES". You know, what happens at the cookie club party, stays at the cookie club party...LOL  So check out her site:  The Cookie Club Website

Collecting hardback Christmas books is one of my hobbies. I officially started about 2 year ago, when I realized they were something I really enjoyed. Just last month, they finally have a permanent spot on my book shelf, so I can crab one and "check it out" whenever I like. I had forgotten I hadn't read a few yet, but most have been read. My favorites comical Christmas books are Skipping Christmas and On Strike at Christmas.

Debbie Macomber, the bestselling author, usually puts out a new Christmas book every year too. Her's are always about romance and the hard to get girl. www.debbiemacomber.com

And for all my scrapbooking friends, this short, cute book about the importance of a scrapbooking, really warms the heart.

Here is a quick snapshot of my collection.
